Holly Thompson, MMC, CMMC, was appointed as Clerk of the City of Williamston in 2009, but has served as Assistant, Deputy and Acting Clerk since 2000.  She has been a member of the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks (MAMC) and International Institute of Municipal Clerks since 2001.  In June 2018, Holly received the City Clerk of the Year Award at the annual conference of the MAMC.  In addition to her work, she is the Director Conference Chair for the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks, Past President & Treasurer of the Capitol Area Municipal Clerks Association, and Past-President of the Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce.  She has received her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation as well as being a Certified Michigan Municipal Clerk (CMMC).  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband at their property in Mesick, spoiling their three dogs, baking cupcakes, and volunteering by running fundraisers for the Ingham County Animal Shelter every year.  Through her volunteerism she has earned three Humanitarian Awards, and a Community Impact Award.

ABSENTEE VOTING and NEW VOTER REGISTRATION:
Absentee Ballots for the November 3, 2020 Election are not yet available. We expect to receive them from the County in mid-September and will begin mailing them out to all requesters at that time. At this time we are accepting absentee applications by email at cityclerk@williamston-mi.us, mail at 161 E. Grand River Ave. Williamston 48895, or place in the dropbox in front of City Hall.

Williamston City Hall, located at 161 East Grand River Ave., will be open on Saturday, October 31, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This will be for the purpose of issuing Absent Voter Ballots to those who apply for a ballot for the November 3 General Election, to register new voters, and to accept ballots.

The last day to obtain absentee ballots BY MAIL is Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m.

The last day that a voter can vote absentee IN PERSON at the City Clerk’s office is Monday, November 2, at 4 p.m. This is also the deadline for voters to spoil their AV ballot and receive a new one in person.

Only those who register to vote at the Williamston City Clerk’s office on Election Day may vote absentee in person on that day.
 

IN-PERSON VOTING FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020
The polling location will be OPEN on Election Day from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. This is located at the Williamston Middle School Gymnasium, 3845 Vanneter Road, Williamston, MI 48895 (behind the school).

Implementation of safety measures and hygiene protocols will take place to ensure the voting process is safe while keeping it secure and accessible.
