Parks and Recreation Commission

About

The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Commission is to recognize, preserve and bring public attention to present and future parks and recreation projects and to promote interest in them. The Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council regarding the development of park and recreation plans, and recommends to the City Council such additional park and recreation programs as will best benefit the City.

Seven Commission members are appointed for 3-year terms by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. One representative of the Planning Commission serves as an ex-officio member on a year-to-year basis.
